Safety Considerations for outdoor Electrical Work:

All external electrics must be RCD (residual current device) protected for safety. The RCD works by cutting off the flow of electricity if a cable or flex is cut.
If cables are being buried underground, it needs to be in a trench and must be deep enough to avoid damage from garden tools.
The cable being used must be suitable for installation externally. Our electricians can advise on the best option.
If you plug decorative lights into an external socket, they should be taken indoors after use unless they are waterproof. If they are not clearly labeled as waterproof, they are not designed to be outdoors all year round.
