Commercial EICR Reports

To ensure that your staff, customers, and visitors are safe in your building, the electrical distribution system should be checked regularly. Fixed wiring deteriorates over time with use and changes in load with additional equipment can impact the electrical system.
There are also regulation compliances to consider too – these change from time to time and it’s essential to keep on top of them. The best way to be confident that your business is compliant and safe is to have a qualified electrician complete an EICR report on your behalf.
At Keenan Electrical and Solar Ltd, we understand our customers deserve the very best. Call 0208 133 8704 for the quality service you’re looking for.

What is an EICR Report?

An EICR report – or an Electrical Installation Condition Report is a formal document proving an inspection has been carried out.
Electrical installations include all the fixed electrics in a building; it’s a check of the wiring, consumer unit (known as the fuse box), sockets, and hardwired installations such as extractors. A qualified and fully registered electrician must carry out the survey and file a report of the findings.
What does an EICR Survey Cover?

The inspection does not look at electrical appliances, like fridges and cookers, but it covers the fixed wiring components. During the survey, the contractor looks for fire hazards, failures, shock hazards, overloading, and deficiencies.
EICR reports look at current regulations and national safety legislation as well. Once a report has been completed, the documentation and certificate are provided for the business owner’s records.
The certificate is usually valid for 5 years but it varies depending on the type of business inspected. Within the report, any recommendations for repairs or maintenance are noted for reference.
Do I need an EICR Certificate?

To comply with the latest legislation, landlords of private dwelling and commercial buildings must have proof that they protect tenants from harm, and an EICR certificate is required every 5 years.
If you own a shop, office, factory, farm, cinema, or educational facility, you will need an EICR inspection for commercial use. Make sure the electrician you choose is qualified to work on larger electrical systems before you appoint them. Our team is fully trained to carry out inspections and provide the necessary certificates.
Should we find any issues with your commercial electrical system, we are also qualified to complete repairs or changes to keep you compliant with current regulations. Our prices are kept competitive and we offer excellent customer service, so call our team today to arrange your EICR inspection.
